Doris and Abe are a dynamic couple. If hearing 7 speeches at this wedding is any indication of how loved this couple is, I can only imagine what a wonderful marriage they will have surrounded by those who support them most. Doris mentioned just how grateful she was that Abe was persistent during their courtship. Everyone in the room agreed that Abe is someone you can trust and rely on. One of his best men (he had three) said that Abe was the first person he called when he had his first job interview, for advice and guidance. Doris’ matron of honor told the beautiful couple that the key to marriage is communication. Everyone there loves and supports Doris and Abe and said they were beyond honored to share in their special day. Some even mentioned they were honored to stand beside them in their bridal party. You could just feel the love in the room.
My weddings are very special to me. And Doris is the epitome of special. We talked so much throughout the year about her wedding and life in general. Some of my brides love to give themselves a little gift of a portrait session or boudoir session. Doris was no exception. We planned a high fashion shoot “Living the Life” this summer with a 70’s inspired feel. Doris is not only beautiful, but a kind and gentle soul. Every time she came over, my daughters would lunge into her arms. Sometimes, my older daughter Gianvieve (who’s 3 mind you), would ask for Doris. She has a gift for people and for life. I’m so grateful to have been a part of their special day.

Saturday was perfect from start to finish. Labor Day weekend can be warm, but the weather was mild. Given hurricane Irene rocking the East Coast the prior weekend, we were blessed that we had a sunny day. This was the first time I photographed a ceremony and reception at The Addison Park, New Jersey. I’ve photographed at the Excelsior Grand in Staten Island and was thrilled to photograph at the Addison. Not only is The Addison Park spectacular with gorgeous ceilings including crystal chandeliers and marble floors. It’s a stunning and majestic wedding site with unforgettable service and outrageous food.  Doris and Abe fell in love with The Addison Park because of its picturesque outdoor ceremony complete with roman columns and breathtaking gardens. You feel like you’re at a destination wedding the second you walk into the doors at The Addison Park.
Here are a few highlights of this spectacular day….
This was such a wonderful moment…. It felt like there was no one around us. Photographs like this make me feel like I’m not a New Jersey wedding photographer, but a destination wedding photographer!
Another reason why The Addison Park is the best wedding venue in New Jersey. Look at these breathtaking grounds! This moment between Doris and her father literally took my breath away. There were tears in her eyes during their father daughter dance as he held her close. The look on his face is that of a proud pappa! One of my absolute favorite moments in 2011, which leaves me with a heavy heart.
One of the highlights of Doris and Abe’s wedding was having my dear friend Jason Eiting second shoot this wedding. Jason, in case you were interested flew in from his native state of Wisconsin to join us for this grand event. To say he is an amazing photographer would be an understatement. Doris and Abe are going to flip out when they see the magic up Jason’s sleeve! I got a sneak peak and BOY are his photos beautiful!
Thanks for reading!
